Diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs when your blood sugar (glucose) is too high. It develops when the pancreas doesn't make enough insulin or any at all, or when our body isn't responding to the effects of insulin properly.
Types of Diabetes:
Type 1: Found in children and young adults. It occurs when the body's immune system attacks and destroys the cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. People with type 1 diabetes need to take insulin every day to stay survive.
Type 2: Most common and usually develops in adulthood. It occurs when the body doesn't use insulin properly or doesn't make enough insulin. Type 2 diabetes can often be managed through diet, exercise, Yoga and medication.
Gestational: This type develops during pregnancy. It affects how the body uses insulin. Gestational diabetes usually goes away after the baby is born.

Foods to be taken:
Foods with high fibres but less fats & carbohydrate , coconut water, coriander, fenugreek, beans, radish, cucumber, brinjals, butter milk, carrot, bitter gourd, spinach, fresh leafy vegetables.
Foods to be avoided :
Sweets , milk products, rice, sugar, sugar cane, mango, banana, oily & Spicy food, packaged foods, fast/junk food etc .
